I have had a passion for plants, since a small child, playing in the glasshouses and growing beds of my grandparents' market garden. I initially trained as an architect, and this taught me theimportance of having strong bold structure and how an underlying sense of proportion could create a sense of calm and tranquillity in a garden. Re-training as a garden designer, I was able to combine my two passions - planting and architecture.
I have always been intrigued by how people live and how the decisions they make about their immediate surroundings can affect their lives, both on a practical and an emotional level. Listening to theclient is key in my view, to understand how they live and how their space can best enhance their lives.
