Julie Zeldin trained at the world renowned English Gardening School, at the Chelsea Physic Garden in London, and was top student of her year in 2004. Our Landscape and Garden Design studio is in NorthLondon. We are currently working on projects throughout London and the South East. We work on both private and public commissions, and projects range from small urban spaces, to recently commissioned gardens for Chelsea College of Art and Design on Millbank, next to the gardens of the Tate Britain.

However for many of us our gardens are a cause of consternation, and the space they offer isn't used to its potential. Plants that disappear shortly after being planted, or descend into a thatch ofbrittle sticks can be disheartening. Areas overrun with weeds, unruly shrubs and patchy lawns are all too common, because most people simply don't have the time or knowledge to care for their gardens. There's no getting away from it, even the most minimally designed garden will need time spent on it.

We design landscapes and gardens for private properties and public projects, working closely with our clients, their architects and interior designers. All our gardens and landscapes are individuallytailored to clients needs and the specific site. We can coordinate your project from start to finish or we can provide a design-only service. We provide Landscape for Planning, working with many clients from the very early stages of their new build or refurbishment schemes.

Discussion and planning the Client's requirements, likes and dislikes is paramount to the overall landscaping task. Our experienced team of landscapers will assess the terrain and groundworks andrecommend a variety of options from which the Client can choose. Large or small garden areas offer diverse planting arrangements and the time of year and the types of soil are all aspects that we take fully into account prior to the decision stage.

I create beautiful, individual gardens for discerning customers in the middle of the urban jungle! Front and rear gardens, roof terraces and courtyards all benefit from imaginative design that makesthe most of the space available. Few plots are too small to be turned into a relaxing retreat or an ‘extra room' for entertaining friends. Every John Gilbert garden is different, individually tailored to your situation and the demands you want to make on it.

Using turf is the quickest way to get a lawn, but it needs careful preparation and aftercare. Turf is best laid in late winter/early spring when the ground has not dried out and the growing season isapproaching. They can be laid later in spring through to late summer but they will need more attention to ensure that they do not dry out. In more northern areas, the best times are early spring to mid summer.
