In 1969 i started as a nursery trainee on a large mixed nursery with training in all aspects of plant culture. I then took a position as a groundsman to gain experience in ground management of sports surfaces etc. I was then offered a chance to take part in the relatively new concept of interior office landscaping, growing, designing and installing planters throughout a major office complex on the Great West Road, London, which included their roof garden.
